PUPPY Placement
Puppy information and photos are posted and updated weekly after whelping. All inquiries are contacted by email or phone. We compile a list of prospective puppy owners and then email puppy applications to the most suitable prospective owners. We do not breed for income. The well-being of our puppies and the protection and survival of the breed are our primary concerns. Our adoptive families’ happiness is also very important. We want you to develop the same love and joy we have with this special breed. We help place our puppies based on family/owner needs and puppy personalities.
At 6 weeks, once personalities have emerged, each puppy is temperament tested. We match puppies to prospective owners and include the interests of each prospective owner while looking for the best fit for our puppies. At 7 weeks placement determinations and travel arrangements are made, and breeder contracts are signed. At 8 weeks the puppies are CERF tested and ready for their new homes. We will not allow puppies to leave until they are at least 8 weeks old.
At 8 weeks Arnleifur puppies are:
Wormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks
The first round of appropriate shots (7 weeks)
Prepaid and registered with AKC
ISAA one-year membership
Micro-chipped documentation for the adoptive owner or family.
Temperament tested at 6 weeks and owner matched
Socialized with humans, other dogs, cats, grooming, collars, leashes, and noises like vacuums. Potty training started.
CERF tested and initial test registered with OFA.
If you cannot travel to us, we will come to you but travel expenses are the responsibility of the new owner. Please print, fill out, and email us the application below or you may ask for an application via email.
"Our experience with Arnleifur Icelandics was fantastic. Aaron and Eva are extremely dedicated and knowledgeable about the breed and provide the support anyone could want to ensure a successful adoption. They are always available and respond to emails almost immediately. When initially dealing with Aaron and his wife, we felt as though we were interacting with old friends, especially when they welcomed us into their home to meet the pups. Icies are not for everyone and Arnleifur Icelandics wants to ensure all of their dogs go to the proper forever home."
